Blog Candy From Joy

It was lucky luck for me to win one of Joy's blog candy giveaways last week. I was so excited because I don't have any of the stamp images that she gave away. Joy didn't just giveaway the "candies" she packed it in a nice little package! Love this backpack, I'm going to have to "jack" her idea (as Kyoko always says)!
Thanks, Joy!

Baby Card

In all the excitement for the blogging sistas gathering, I forgot to make a card for a friend who just had her 3rd baby girl. Good thing that I had stamped off this cute TGF image from Kyoko's amazing collection. I only wish that I could have as many stamps & so organized! Mahalo, Kyoko!
I was so jazzed after the get together that I started coloring some images. I put this together on Sunday night. Since I forgot that I was going to make a gift card holder, I improvised - a card with a pocket to hold the gift card. (psst-Linda, am I to late to win the prize for finishing a card? LOL!)

Off to mail this or my friend will get this at her baby's 1st birthday! Then to the beach for the final days of summer vacation!
Thanks for stopping by!

One Fun Day

Got to meet some of the local blogging sistas on Sunday. Denise generously opened up her house to some crazy sistas! It was a day of good loud laughs, ono (delicious) foods and great company. We shared stamps (well, mostly Kyoko's stamps - thanks, Kyoko! Hope there will be another time because I didn't even make a dent in your awesome collection!). Denise even shared some Georgia Pacific white cardstock. Michelle even gave something even though she couldn't make attend! Thanks, Michelle!!
Joy outdid herself by not only making checkbook covers, stamping images and making a "purse," she even handmade flowers-which I wore & forgot to take a picture of. Check out Joy's blog for a picture of the attendees.
What impressed me was that some of the ladies even made their goodies in the person's favorite color! If only I could be that thoughtful!!

It was a super fun gathering and I'm glad that I got to meet some awesome gals!
Have a great week!

July OCS From Marisa

After 2 days of stand up paddling, my shoulders are killing me! But, boy was it F-U-N, fun!! We paddled in Kaneohe Bay and the conditions were great! I can understand why it's such a craze! You get exercise & have fun! So lucky we live Hawai`i!! Anyway, onward to the card:

I received my July OCS from Marisa and it's a beaute! She made the tri-fold or accordian card which I have not attempted to try yet because it looks hard. The details are super! Love the colors! Marisa was also kind to include some DP & ribbon as a thank you for a Starbuck's card that I had sent.
Thanks, Marisa!! You didn't have to send a RAK. But, I love the colors of the papers & the ribbons are fun!

I also want to thank Linda and Brenda for sending me awards. I'm flattered, it's so sweet of you to think of me. I send out the awards to all you awesome bloggers out there who inspire me daily. Without your creative ideas, I'd have nothing to craft! So, I dedicate both awards to you!!!

Aloha Friday!

Twilight Action

I almost forgot to make a birthday card for my son's birthday tomorrow. He's a Twilight fan too. Well, not obsessed like me, but, he did like reading the series. Unusual for a teen boy, huh...hmm, my guess is he's either finding his feminine side (which I highly doubt-crossing my fingers) or he's trying to figure out how the opposite sex thinks! hmm...
actually, he's a really good reader and he'll read most any book with "action" as he calls it. I said, "action? like *gulp* s-e-x, action?" "eww, no way mom! action like fighting kind." "OH!," as I get up off the floor.
ANYWAY, I made the card loosely based on the Stamp 'n Scrap Hawaii challenge, here. Finally got "my" Edward stamp, so I had to oil, oops, I mean ink him up.
So, we're off on a mini vacation to celebrate my son's birthday. Gonna try some stand up paddling if the weather cooperates!
"One paddle, Two paddle..." Aloha,

Soup For A Friend

One of my daughter's team mates got sick this weekend and missed out playing in the basketball tournament. So, DD1 wanted to make a card for her. I saw this cute soup packet holder on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts and knew this would be perfect! We adjusted the size to fit the larger packet, added the cute SU! stamp (forgot to take off the sentiment, but, that's OK) and voila!

So, my whirlwind weekend has ended with both the 14U Boys & 12U Girls having a 4-2 record. We didn't win the championships because our losses came during playoffs (single elimination). But, everyone had lots of fun. I'm hearing basketballs and whistles in my sleep now!
Gonna go immerse myself into blog surfing to unwind!

Malama pono (take care),

Just A Card

Made this pink & brown card for a friend's birthday. I'm a blue color person, but, the pink and brown combo is my next favorite. Personally, I like bold pink vs soft pink and actually wear the bright pink color often! Huh? My kids think that I'm confused...am I? das so podagee!

My kids are in a basketball tournament this weekend, so, I won't be able to do much crafts. I'll just be doing lots of "loud talking aka yelling, and marching back & forth with my hands on my hips."

Happy Aloha Friday!

Lovely Hula Hands

A huge mahalo to those who left sweet comments about my van. It's working now, but, there's lots to fix. I can imagine the bills. blah...

Anywho, I'm *gulp* venturing out and trying to do some challenges, because I've been very inspired by your creations. I sit in awe (sometimes so long that I get okole (butt) cramps) staring at your creativity and soaking in your aloha spirit. It's awesome that many local wahine(girls) from the Islands are starting their own blogs.
My card for a couple challenges: ROP and Tuesday Morning Sketches. ROP's challenge is to do a summer card and the layout for TMS works great & of course, Hula Anya matches.
I typed up my own sentiment because the eyes tend to wander to the dancer's *beep* and the hands are what really tells the story in hula.

A hui hou, until we meet again.

Happy Mail aka RAK

Well the start of my weekend was a little rough. My van decided to not work, so that left me & my keiki stranded. How to get to all our activities without a car is small kind difficult! Stranded, I tell you, like the gang on Gilligan's Island!!
Well, not that bad, but, we did have to scale down on the things that we did-one of which was me not getting to Pineapple Cove's sale. *sniff* I was so looking forward to seeing Linda & doing the make and take.

I did, however, get happy mail! Elena sent me some images in a cute folder holder as a thank you for her Aloha RAK. Boy, did it make my day brighter! Thanks so much, Elena! I love the images! My first Gorjuss Girls! I love the colors too - pink & brown is my favorite color next to blue. Cute, too the ANA flowers in her hair!

It's going to be a long week, but, at least here on Gilligan's Isle there are crafts & a computer!

Have a smashing week!

ROP Challenge Goof

I got a chance to talk with Jodi the other day to wish her a "happy birthday." She's such a sweet person with a sweet voice! I sound like Yosemite Sam next to her!
Jodi is an awesome creator and is on so many DT. I was so inspired after talking with her to do a challenge that I chose to do ROP Challenge 15 creating a gate fold card. Except that in my excitement, I didn't read the WHOLE challenge. *ahem* Gate fold card with stitching. Ack...thought that I'd share my card with you anyway.
I used my one & only Edward...oops! I mean, Ian image. The DP is old, but, I thought that it had that vintage feel..centuries old, like Edward *sigh*. The crochet flower is from Elena who made them herself-isn't it awesome?!!

I leave you with this quote from Twilight:
"His skin....literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny diamonds were embedded in the surface."

Now, who can resist a guy who sparkles like diamonds?! Not me, I tell ya!
Aloha!

SU! July Swap

My Pacific Stampers SU! swap for July is to incorporate a new stamp set. This isn't quite a new set as it was featured in the Spring Mini catalog, but, I did use the new in-color paper, ink & ribbon. You likely?

I really liked last season's colors, but, as usual SU! just draws you in like bees to honey with their new colors! These colors are Dusty Durango, Bermuda Blue and something Curry. I love their new polka dot ribbons too! SU! is even offering textured cardstock in 8 1/2 x 11!

Thanks for stopping by & for your sweet comments. It sure does brighten up my day!
Happy Stamping!

Owl Show You

Now I know what some gals were saying when it's hard to come up with a title. Any woooo....(get it?). I made this hinge card to send to Jean to thank her for the stamps. I got the idea from SU! Success magazine for demonstrators. It's a really easy concept. I wanted to use bright colors to match my mood. Me, I like blue, but, I thought that I should add in some pink/purple to make it more "sweeter." Thanks, Jean for the stamps!
Owl be back!

Guess Who?

Jean at Dandelion Designs has giveaways whenever she comes out with new stamps. I love her stamps! They're so cute! I was lucky to win her "Guess Who" owl stamps & sentiments. Owl stamps are my favorite, but, I'm so picky about what I like that I only have 1. Jean's owls are one of my favorites. So, I was jumping for joy when I saw that I had won them! Check out Jean's card. Isn't is awesome!
If you haven't checked out her site yet, head on over. Jean not only has some great projects, she shares her tutorials too!
Owl see ya'll later!
