Hello Kitty!

Got to make a Hello Kitty card for DD2's friend who is a major HK fan!  I went to the Cara Mia store in Manoa and was able to do all my shopping at one hit!  DD2 had 3 parties this weekend!  Hello?! Is she like running for Mayor or Governor?  Managed to swing getting her to her parties and my other two to their basketball games. phew!
Hope you're all enjoying your 3 day weekend!
Happy Labor Day!

No Trophies, Please

What does my title have to do with crafting?  Well, DD2 just finished her first basketball season and a couple of the parents did not want trophies
Using round coasters, I made these HK medallions and tied them to the colorful leis. The leis were super easy and fun to make...that's what I'm talkin' about!
The girls really liked them and didn't seem to notice that they didn't get trophies.
If you're thinking about different ideas for end of the season gifts, try tie-dying shirts!  Sorry, didn't get a shot of the finished shirts.

We collected $9 from each family, used it to buy the kit and the shirts (plain white ones from Walmart).  Leftover money was used to buy candy.  The girls had a blast dyeing their shirts!
Thanks for popping on in! Your comments put a smile on my day!

November OCS

My partner this month for Teri's OCS is Michelle U. Don't you just LOVE her card? It's so yummy! It's a slider card. So, so cute!Talk about pressure!

Think! Think! OK, Michelle loves HK, so that made that one easy. Now, what to do. Pink and brown are her favorite colors. Ok, now what. sweat, sweat. Go play Bejeweled Blitz. Oh, now I gotta check my crops. 2 days later. Feel better. But, still no idea. Go check out some blogs. There it is! On Marie's blog! a diorama card! So, after almost a week of sweating & playing TONS of Bejeweled-got 316,000 points...hee! hee! Here's what I came up with:Whew! I didn't have any good sentiment stamps so, I left it plain. Sorry, Michelle!
Thanks, Teri, for hosting the OCS! It's fun!

Fall is fantastic!

BRAK From Dawne

Got this great BRAK from Dawne last week and am ashamed to say that I forgot to post it. Actually, I thought that my computer had lost my pictures when in fact, I didn't download it from my camera. Can we say, "duh?!"
I was super surprised when I got the BRAK because I saw the card on Dawne's blog and had commented on it. But, you know, it's one thing to see it on the computer and another to see it IRL. Hate to say it, but, the computers don't do any justice for the cards. The card is super cute!

Thanks so much Dawne!

Thanks for stopping by!
Lovin' this cool, windy weather!

Teacher's Gifts

It's that time to work on teachers' gifts. I've heard that we aren't supposed to give the teacher's monetary gifts, but, hey, they work so hard all year that they deserve a little something. Don't you think? Anyway, Enjoli was my partner for April's Aloha RAK and she gave me the most awesome stuff. One of them being a post it note holder which I CASED!

Thanks, Enjoli for the great idea! I had to make 10 for DD2 preschool and a couple for DD1. Maybe I'll make a couple more just in case I forgot someone.
I still, however, need to come up with something for the men teachers at DD1's school. Any ideas anyone?
Have a great week!

Cards for a New Baby

A friend is expecting her 3rd baby this April and I whipped up these cards since I knew that she was a Hello Kitty fan. And I was at a loss as to what to get, other than diapers.

Here's close up of one of the cards. I used the textured plate to add a little pizazz to the background. Fun! Bundled them together, tied with a ribbon and added a simple tag. An easy gift to make and very quick to put together.
