Meeting New Friends

I was lucky enough this weekend to meet Linda, Kyoko, Denise, Dawney, Nicky & Jamee. It was brief, but, fun! I can see how their craft day would be mostly talking! I got these great RAKs from Linda and Denise. All of the images are so cute. Thank you, I can't wait to start creating!
Linda, your crayon box is perfect for holding my new images! It's going to be my Himawari Babies holder!
There's a challenge on Denise's blog for Himawari Babies. Check it out, here. Should be fun!
Have a sunshiney day!

RAK From Elena

Elena just started her blog, Bearasaurus and had a give away. I was lucky enough to be one of the recipients of her handmade crochet flowers.
She made these awesome holders for them.
Check out the packaging too! Elena also happened to be my partner for Jen's Aloha RAK so, it must've been fate to meet each other through blog land! Head on over to her blog because she's got some wonderful creations. You gotta see this baby bouquet that she made. It's awesome!

Thanks so much, Elena for such a wonderful RAK! I can't wait to use the flowers or maybe I'll just save them because they are too precious to use!

Happy Sunday!

Got Me Some RAKs

It's been a good couple of mail days!

First, Vina sent me a pretty card & some flowers for Jen's Aloha RAK. Thanks, Vina! I like the flowers, can't wait to use them.
Ever since making her card for Club Anya's challenge, DD#1 is goo-goo over TGF images! Have to bust out the bibs from storage...drool away from my cards, please! sheesh! Too funny!
Then, I got my OCS from Tracy.
Hope you're feeling better, Tracy! I love the card! I attempted to do this accordian fold card, but, gave up. Maybe I'll try again next month. Again, DD#1 was "oohh & aahh" over the card! Paws off, sister!

If you haven't tried doing these swaps, you should cuz they are fun! The best part is making new friends!
Enjoy the weekend!

5th Avenue Floral Cards

I just love this stamp set! It makes any layout & color combination look good. It's my dream set, where there is little or no thinking involved! I needed a quick gift, so I made a set of these cards Bam! Done in a flash!
I've been so busy admiring all the graduation cards (and all your other creations) on everyone's blogs that I forgot to make one for my cousin's daughter! Shame on me! I only had to make 1! O-N-E, one! I'd better get started right after I check out some more blogs!

Happy Aloha Friday!

Marvelous Me Challenge

I love the TGF images and have been hooked on checking out their blog sites, especially the Club Anya. They are having a challenge for kids here. So, my daughters took on the challenge. Thought that they did pretty good. But, I gotta say that it's really hard to stand back & watch while they create, especially the younger one (she's 5yrs). ye-ouch!

well I suppose that mermaids are fictional so rainbow hair is okay. I guess Mermaid Anya burnt her arm, under water?!
*Edit: the girls did everything on their own, except for Mermaid Anya. I got that stamped image from Enjoli.
DD1 has a good eye. She laid out everything on her own, she even tied her own ribbon-did a better job than I do. Maybe I'll have her tie all the ribbon on my cards from now on!

Thanks for stopping by!

Something Fishy

Made these cute cards in a SU! class this weekend. Good thing too because I had forgotten to make FD cards...oops! The set is perfect because my dad likes fishing & DH likes both fishing and surfing. I love the colors of the card, it's so summer!
Don't mind the car, I forgot to color it in and only noticed it after I took the picture! Do you like the split in the card? I thought that was a cool technique - easy to do too!

Have a great week!

My June OCS

I got partnered with Tracy for Teri's June OCS and found out that she's a Mickey Mouse fan. Disneyland is definitely the happiest place on earth! My card (on the left) isn't really elaborate, but, it fits with her love of MM.
Since Tracy just had surgery and a tough week, I decided to make a little post-it note holder to lift her spirits! I got the idea from Angie Juda's blog, check it out cause she's got some great projects.

Have a super weekend!

Make A Child Smile

Every month I send out anywhere from 10-20 cards to children from this site: Make A Child Smile.
It touched my heart reading some of their stories and I realized that sending a card can make them happier & forget their illness for a short while. Sometimes I add little poems, riddles or knock-knock jokes in their cards to "spice" it up just a bit. I think, too that getting a card from "Hawai`i" is a bigger deal than we know.
Thanks for stopping by & for the comments that you leave, I sure do appreciate the love!

Have a sunshine-y day!

My June Aloha RAK

well, I finished my June Aloha RAK, but, haven't mailed it out yet. hello? sometimes I don't put 2+2 together. How can my partner get her RAK if I don't mail it? hmmm?! Such a donkey I am.

This month's challenge was to use flowers and share flowers. I think I went a little overboard on the flower background. But, I did think that the Changito Flower stamp matched!
I got the template for the bag from Lauren Meader's Papertrey Timeless Templates. It has 2 inside pockets which I filled with small stuff.

The template is easy to do, but, what I love are the great samples that come with the templates.
I used the stamped images that I got from JackieLou. Those images are so cute! Well off to the Post Office to get this out today.
Thanks for stopping by!

SU! Swap

Here's a swap that I planned to make for the SU! Pacific Stampers group meeting last Friday. We were supposed to use buttons. I can't figure out what's missing on this card - maybe a mat under the butterfly or a sentiment or ribbon would complete the card.
Oh well, since I wasn't able to attend, I left it as is. Am off to surf the blogs and know that I'll be inspired by someone's creation.

For you Twilight fans, TGF is coming out with a new stamp image - Edward!! Can't wait!

Happy King Kamehameha Day!

RAK

It's summer! And to start it off, I got this great RAK from JackieLou!
Actually, I got it a couple weeks ago and haven't had time to photograph it. But, taking out this morning is just a great way to start the summer!
Her card was so cute and she used the colors from Jen's Aloha RAK perfectly.
JackieLou included these great images & stamps from Two Scoop Rice designs that just scream Hawai`i. There's also a bunch of beads that I haven't figured out how to use yet, but, I will. I will! Thanks so much, JackieLou! I can't wait to start creating.
It's time to hit the beach! Surf's up on the South Shore this week too! yahoo!!

Brian's Make and Take

The school year is winding down and I can't wait! I feel like the rabbit in the cereal commercial - "coo-coo for cocoa puffs!" except I'm just running around saying "coo-coo! coo-coo!"
Anyway, I had stopped by Brian's (Photocraft) a couple Saturdays ago and was lucky to be there for a make & take. He used some of the new HK dies. DD#1 wanted to make one too, so this is her version. She decided to tilt the blue background paper to "jazz" it up a bit. She did a great job. uh, oh, future crafter in the house...

Don't you just love the blue background paper? It's so sparkly.

I can't believe that June is here already! Where does the time go?

Happy June everyone!
